About This Song
About "Chant du départ" by André Dassary
Dassary delivers 'Chant du départ' with patriotic fervor, but the song's revolutionary roots add an edge. It's a march with a heartbeat—rousing yet tinged with the melancholy of sending young men to war. The melody swells like a flag in wind, calm in its certainty, unsettling in its consequences.
