About This Song
About "Se lontan ben mio, K. 438" by Christine Schäfer
Mozart's concert aria aches with distance, a letter never sent. Schäfer's voice floats over muted strings like a paper boat on dark water, each ornament a ripple of longing. The tension is between poised classical form and a heart that refuses to stay composed.
