About "It's In The Kiss (The Shoop Shoop Song)" by Betty Everett
Betty Everett's original is a masterclass in restraint: a chiming piano, a handclap, and a voice that knows exactly what it's not saying. The kiss becomes a secret kept in plain sight, the song's bright surface barely containing a giddy, nervous thrill. It's pop as whispered gossip.
