About "Perfidia" by Billy Vaughn And His Orchestra
Perfidia—faithlessness—rendered as a slow, smoky instrumental. Vaughn's orchestra drapes the melody in velvet, but the minor-key undertow betrays a quiet ache. It's the sound of a dance floor at closing time, elegant and quietly devastated.
