About "Purcell: Abdelazer, Z. 570: II. Rondeau" by Andrew Parrott
Purcell's Abdelazer Rondeau, performed by Andrew Parrott, is a stately Baroque dance with a darkly glittering edge. The repeating theme circles like a candle flame in a draft—elegant yet unsettling. Parrott's ensemble brings crisp articulation and a hint of menace to this familiar earworm.
