About "He's the Last Word" by Ben Bernie & His Roosevelt Hotel Orchestra
Ben Bernie's orchestra delivers a brisk, brassy sermon on finality, the horns strutting like a man who knows he's right. Beneath the jaunty 1920s swing, there's a flicker of unease—the last word is never as clean as the melody suggests, and the dance floor knows it.
