About "Cantata "Ich habe genug" BWV 82 : J.S. Bach: Cantata "Ich habe genug" BWV 82 - 1. Aria: Ich habe genug, ich habe den Heiland" by Albrecht Mayer
Bach’s aria becomes a lullaby of surrender, Mayer’s oboe tracing a melody of serene finality. The English horn’s rounded tone cradles the text’s ‘I have enough,’ yet the music’s gentle sway carries a shadow: the quiet ache of letting go, a soul settling into twilight with both peace and a tremble.
