About This Song
About "Sentimental Fool - Alternate Version (2)" by Barbara Pittman
On 'Sentimental Fool,' Pittman sneers at her own softness. The alternate version strips away polish, leaving a raw, echo-laden vocal that sounds like it's confessing to a mirror. The rockabilly backing is a taunting partner, all slapback and swagger, as if to say: tenderness is the ultimate folly.
