About "Oh Little Boy (What Did You Do To Me) (Single Version)" by Mary Wells
A lesser-known gem from Mary Wells, 'Oh Little Boy' is a bittersweet confection. The single version trims the fat, leaving a lean, chiming pop-soul track where Wells's narrator scolds and swoons in equal measure. The tension between girlish innocence and knowing hurt gives the song its quiet power.
