About "Schubert / Orch. Challan: Ave Maria, Op. 52 No. 6, D. 839" by Barbara Hendricks
Schubert’s prayer, bathed in Challan’s orchestral glow: the soprano’s voice floats like a candle flame in a cathedral, each phrase a whispered plea, the orchestration adding a velvet hush to the familiar devotion.
