About This Song
About "Polifemo : Porpora: Polifemo - Alto Giove, è tua grazia" by Bejun Mehta
Bejun Mehta’s countertenor channels a cyclops’s longing in Porpora’s Alto Giove. The aria’s serene surface—a plea for grace—ripples with monstrous isolation, as if Polyphemus’s cave echoes with a tender, impossible hope. Mehta balances Baroque ornamentation with raw vulnerability.
