About "Les goûts-réunis, Concert No. 8 "Dans le goût théâtral" : F. Couperin: Les goûts-réunis, Concert No. 8 "Dans le goût théâtral": X. Air tendre. Lentement" by Aurèle Nicolet
Couperin's Air tendre is a sigh made sound—a Lentement that drifts like perfume through a closed room. Nicolet's flute is impossibly soft, the ornamentation delicate as lace. There's a sweet melancholy here, a tenderness that feels both intimate and slightly distant.
