About This Song
About "4 Dance Episodes from Rodeo: IV. Hoe Down" by Aaron Copland
The 'Hoe Down' from Rodeo is a barn-raising in sound: fiddles saw, brass whoops, and the whole orchestra kicks up dust. Copland's syncopations are all elbows and grins, but the relentless tempo hints at exhaustion—a community dancing past its limits, joy and fatigue locked in a breathless, grinning embrace.
