About "Les goûts-réunis, Concert No. 8 "Dans le goût théâtral" : F. Couperin: Les goûts-réunis, Concert No. 8 "Dans le goût théâtral": I. Overture" by Aurèle Nicolet
Couperin’s Overture unfolds with regal pomp, Nicolet’s flute leading a stately procession through ornate harmonies. The ‘theatrical taste’ is evident in dramatic contrasts, as if a curtain is rising on a baroque stage full of intrigue and grace.
