About This Song
About "Stabat Mater, RV 621 : Vivaldi: Stabat Mater, RV 621: IV. Quis est homo – V. Quis non posset – VI. Pro peccatis" by Academy Of Ancient Music
The middle movements ache with restrained fury—'Quis est homo' posing questions the strings answer in shivering counterpoint. Academy of Ancient Music balances tenderness against terror, the continuo a heartbeat beneath lament. Here Vivaldi's grief is not passive but interrogative, each cadence a door opening onto deeper shadow.
