About This Song
About "Hey Lucinda" by Betty Everett
A wistful, mid-tempo plea, 'Hey Lucinda' finds Everett in a rare, unguarded mode. The melody aches with distance, the horns sighing like a late-night streetlamp. There's a gentle tension between the song's warm, soulful glide and the loneliness at its core—a conversation with someone who may never answer.
