About This Song
About "Le petit indien" by Yvette Giraud
A playful colonial fantasia, Giraud’s chanson sketches a child’s toy tomahawk and paper feathers. Beneath the jaunty melody, a quiet unease: the innocence of play masking a casual exoticism. The tune’s bright naivety clashes with the weight of its caricature.
