About "Typhoon Flutes" by Alexander Skancke
Flutes here aren't pastoral but pressurized—air forced through a synthesizer's narrow throat. Skancke builds a typhoon of swirling arpeggios and tribal-tinged drums, the melody spinning like debris in a storm. It's dance music with a barometric drop, exhilarating and slightly menacing.
