Porpora's take on the same lip-nest metaphor is more overtly sensual, with Artaserse shaping each phrase like a slow kiss. The voice lingers on dissonances that ache with longing, while the continuo pulses like a secret. This is desire as a beautiful trap, sweet and dangerous.
