About "Funeral Ikos" by Christian Pierre La Marca
Tavener's Funeral Ikos moves like incense through cold air, La Marca's cello a single voice in a vast, grieving space. The chant is austere yet luminous, holding sorrow and serenity in the same long, unbroken breath.
