Mozart's Zaide aria is a lullaby of longing, Mathis floating on hushed strings. 'Rest gently, my beloved' she sings, the melody a silken thread between sleep and waking. The music cradles a quiet ache, serenity shadowed by absence, a moonlit vigil.
