About "10 National Airs with Variations, Op. 107 (Flute Version) : Beethoven: 10 National Airs with Variations, Op. 107 (Flute Version): No. 1, I bin a Tiroler Bua" by Cecile Licad
Beethoven's Tyrolean air gets a sprightly, affectionate reading. Licad teases out the rustic charm of the melody, each variation a new costume for the same folk tune. The mood is a warm, slightly mischievous Alpine breeze—simple, bright, and full of character.
