About "Messa da Requiem - Edited David Rosen : Verdi: Messa da Requiem - Edited David Rosen: 7b. Libera Me - Dies Irae" by Anja Harteros
Verdi's 'Libera Me' erupts with the 'Dies Irae'—a cataclysmic storm of brass and chorus. Harteros's soprano cuts through the terror like lightning, her plea for mercy colliding with apocalyptic fury. The tension between divine wrath and human fragility is rendered in vivid, orchestral strokes.
