About "Tristan und Isolde, WWV 90 / Act I : Wagner: Tristan und Isolde, WWV 90 / Act I: "Westwärts schweift der Blick"" by Birgit Nilsson
Westward, the gaze sweeps—Nilsson's Isolde launches a line of pure longing across Wagner's restless sea. The orchestra churns like grey water, and her voice, a lone gull, cries over the swells. Tension: the homeland receding, the self dissolving into horizon.
