About "Choral Prelude, BWV 639: "Ich ruf' zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ"" by Christian Pierre La Marca
Bach's chorale prelude becomes a solitary cry in La Marca's hands. The cello intones 'I call to thee' with a woody, human ache, each note a candle guttering in a draft. The stillness is profound, but unease flickers—a prayer offered into silence, hoping for answer.
