Caldonia's Wedding Day

Well, hallelujah, hallelujah, I feel so fine today
Hey, Caldonia's gonna have her wedding day
I got the invitation in the mail today
Hallelujah, hallelujah, Caldonia's wedding day
Well, hallelujah, hallelujah, I feel so fine today
Hey, Caldonia's gonna have her wedding day
I got the invitation in the mail today
Hallelujah, hallelujah, Caldonia's wedding day
Caldonia invited that same old crowd
A-jumpin' like mad, shoutin' out loud
They had barbecued chicken, kidney stew
Bootleg whiskey and chitterlings too
Hallelujah, hallelujah, Caldonia's wedding day
Well, the crowd was jumpin' and the deacon was a-loadin' dice
He said, "Deacon Jones, you know that ain't nice"
The deacon said, "Elder, when the crowd is gone
Let's split the loot and let the dice roll on"
Cryin', "Hey, hey, Caldonia's wedding day"
Well, just before the ceremony begin
The preacher got drunk from drinkin' gin
Caldonia got booted, takin' that mess
Jumped up on the table and pulled up her dress
Cryin', "Hey, hey, this is my wedding day"
Well, the joint began to jump
And the party was really on
The joint began to jump
The ball was really on
Well, the joint began to jump
And the ball was really on
Well, jump everybody, everybody
Jump everybody, everybody
Jump everybody, everybody
Jump everybody, everybody
Well, Caldonia's wedding day
