About "Messe de Requiem, Op. 48/N 97b: IV. Pie Jesu" by Balthasar Neumann Chor
A child's prayer for mercy, sung with adult weariness. Fauré's Pie Jesu floats on a thread of strings, the soprano's voice a single tear suspended. The music is gentle as a lullaby but heavy with farewell—comfort and grief braided into one sustained, aching line.
