About This Song
About "Divertissement à la hongroise, D. 818 : Schubert: Divertissement à la hongroise, D. 818: II. Marcia. Andante con moto" by Alfons Kontarsky
The Marcia unfolds with stately, processional gravity, a Hungarian march filtered through Schubert's lyricism. Four hands evoke distant drums and muted horns, the andante con moto pacing like a solemn parade—dignified on the surface, but shadowed by an undercurrent of wistful unease.
