About "String Quartet No. 11 in F Minor, Op. 122 : Shostakovich: String Quartet No. 11 in F Minor, Op. 122: 1. Introduction: Andantino" by Borodin Quartet
Shostakovich's Eleventh Quartet opens with an Andantino that feels like a door creaking open onto a dark corridor. The Borodin Quartet plays the Introduction with spectral restraint, each instrument a separate voice in a whispered argument. Tension accumulates not through volume but through the eerie sense of something waiting just beyond the next barline.
