About "Miserere mei, Deus" by Augsburger Domsingknaben
Allegri's 'Miserere mei, Deus' is a monument of penitential polyphony. The Augsburger Domsingknaben deliver its soaring soprano line with knife-edge purity, the verses climbing like a supplicant up stone steps. The tension between celestial beauty and abject plea is almost unbearable—a whispered cry echoing in a vast, empty nave.
