About This Song
About "Angel of Air / Angel of Water" by Alice Coltrane
Two elemental spirits meet in Coltrane's harp and organ, the airy glissandi contrasting with deep, watery swells. This spiritual jazz diptych moves with a serene, floating grace, its calm surface hiding a restless, searching undercurrent. A meditation on opposing forces.
