About This Song
About "Fauré: 3 Mélodies, Op. 7: No. 1, Après un rêve" by Barbara Hendricks
Fauré's 'Après un rêve' wakes into loss. Hendricks sings with a tremble that feels like fingertips on fading light—the dream dissolves, and the melody's gentle arc becomes a farewell. Tenderness haunted by the knowledge of morning.
