About "I Don't Want To Cry (Big Maybelle I Don't Want To Cry)" by Big Maybelle
Big Maybelle's 'I Don't Want To Cry' is a study in restraint that aches. She holds back the flood, her voice a dam straining against a torrent of sorrow. The arrangement is sparse, almost reverent, allowing every swallowed sob to resonate. It's a portrait of strength as a fragile, beautiful thing.
