About This Song
About "Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir, BWV 38: Aria. Ich hore mitten in den Leiden (Tenor)" by Arleen Augér
From Bach’s cantata of distress, Augér’s tenor aria pierces the gloom with startling tenderness. The text speaks of hearing amid suffering, and her voice becomes a beacon—clear, unforced, yet trembling with empathy. The continuo walks a dark path beneath her, but her phrasing lifts the listener toward fragile hope.
