About This Song
About "Neckbone" by Anthony Joseph
Joseph digs into the marrow of memory, 'Neckbone' a gritty totem of ancestry and endurance. The groove is loose-limbed but purposeful, a funk-inflected strut through the archive of the body. There's tenderness in the rasp, a poet's precision in the sprawl—history held together by sinew and song.
