About "Groovin' High" by Charlie Parker
A bebop cornerstone, 'Groovin' High' is a dizzying ascent up a harmonic staircase. Parker's solo is a cascade of quicksilver ideas, each phrase tumbling into the next with gleeful momentum. The groove is high, yes—but so is the risk, a tightrope walk over a chasm of swing.
