About "Der Freischütz, Op. 77, Act III : Weber: Der Freischütz, Op. 77, Act III: No. 12, Cavatina. Und ob die Wolke sie verhülle" by Gundula Janowitz
Weber’s cavatina finds Janowitz in hushed awe, Agathe’s prayer piercing the gloom. The melody floats like mist over dark woods, wavering between fear and faith. Kleiber’s baton draws out a fragile hope, each note a candle against the encroaching night.
