About This Song
About "Romeo & Juliet, Op. 64, Act II: No. 24, Dance of the Five Couples" by Baltimore Symphony Orchestra
Prokofiev’s Dance of the Five Couples is a marketplace of tangled limbs and shifting loyalties, the Baltimore Symphony rendering it with razor-edged wit. Each couple spins in bright, brittle circles, joy and rivalry locked in a breathless embrace. The music grins—but its eyes are watchful, never wholly at ease.
