About This Song
About "Das Rheingold : Act II : Su mir, Freia! meide sie Frecher!" by Astrid Varnay
A sharp rebuke cuts through the golden hall: 'Me, Freia? You dare?' Varnay’s soprano flashes with indignation, each consonant a slap. The orchestra churns with righteous fury, and the tension between decorum and raw insult makes this a masterclass in operatic confrontation—polite on the surface, volcanic beneath.
