About "Pictures at an Exhibition (Orch. Ravel) : Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition (Orch. Ravel): X. The Great Gates of Kyiv" by Chicago Symphony Orchestra
Mussorgsky’s Great Gate of Kyiv, in Ravel’s orchestration, is a monument built of sound: bells, brass, and a chorale that swells like a procession approaching from far off. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra makes the grandeur feel earned, not bombastic—each crescendo a stone laid with deliberate, monumental weight.
