About "Orlando, HWV 31 / Act 1 : Handel: Orlando, HWV 31 / Act 1 - No. 5 Acc. "Imagini funeste" - No. 6 Aria "Non fu già"" by Bejun Mehta
Orlando’s ‘Imagini funeste’ and ‘Non fu già’ form a diptych of madness. Mehta paints dark visions with a trembling edge, then pivots to a fragile aria of lost love. The countertenor’s agility becomes a mind unraveling—luminous, terrifying, and achingly human.
