About "Giulio Cesare in Egitto, HWV 17 / Atto terzo : Handel: Giulio Cesare in Egitto, HWV 17 / Atto terzo: No. 31 Aria "Domerò la tua fierezza" (Live)" by Bejun Mehta
Mehta’s ‘Domerò la tua fierezza’ is a promise of taming, but the live energy simmers with menace. The aria’s martial swagger meets a countertenor’s velvet edge—a conqueror’s smile that never reaches the eyes. Here, clemency and coercion dance a dangerous duet.
