About This Song
About "La Traviata : Verdi: La Traviata: "De' miei bollenti spiriti"" by Benjamin Bernheim
Verdi’s 'De’ miei bollenti spiriti' finds Bernheim in a fever of delight, the piano’s chords like sparks from a hearth. Yet the aria’s brightness is edged with anxiety: the tenor’s ardor is a flame that consumes as it illuminates, a joy too hot to last.
