About This Song
About "Josquin des Prez: O Virgo prudentissima / Beata Mater à 6" by Charles Daniels
In 'O Virgo prudentissima,' Josquin builds a six-voice cathedral of sound. The music glows with Marian devotion, its harmonies both stately and tender. Daniels' tenor floats above the ensemble, a solitary candle in a vast, echoing nave of counterpoint.
