About "Appalachian Spring Suite : Copland: Appalachian Spring Suite: I. Very Slowly" by Aaron Copland
The opening of Copland's Appalachian Spring suite moves with the hush of dawn over a frontier. Very slowly, strings and woodwinds sketch a wide, empty horizon—hopeful but haunted by the unknown. It's a prayer before the work begins, delicate and immense.
