About This Song
About "Handel: Radamisto, HWV 12, Act 2: "Ombra cara di mia sposa" (Radamisto)" by Artaserse
A shadowy aria from Handel's Radamisto, where Radamisto's lament for his absent wife unfurls over a sparse, pulsing continuo. Artaserse's countertenor hovers between tenderness and despair, each phrase a flickering candle in a darkened chamber—the calm of memory colliding with the unease of loss.
