About "Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, W389: I. Ária" by Brian Asawa
Asawa’s countertenor floats over Villa-Lobos’s Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, a haunting aria where baroque counterpoint meets Brazilian saudade. The voice, pure and airborne, evokes a lone cello singing under moonlight, balancing serene melody with an undercurrent of longing.
