About "Small Town Boy" by Beteo
Borrowing the title of a Bronski Beat classic, Beteo doesn't cover it — he fractures it. 'Small Town Boy' becomes a Polish rap meditation on escape and claustrophobia, the beat a ticking clock in a provincial bedroom. The tension is between the wide-open title and the narrow walls of the verse.
