About "Down the Boondocks" by Billy Joe Royal
Royal heads down a dusty backroad of the mind, where country-rock twang meets a restless urge to escape. The boondocks aren't just a place but a feeling—part refuge, part trap—rendered with a driving beat and a narrator who can't quite decide which.
