About "Romeo & Juliet, Op. 64, Act I: No. 16, Madrigal" by Baltimore Symphony Orchestra
The Madrigal from Romeo & Juliet is a stolen glance across a crowded ballroom, the Baltimore Symphony distilling longing into delicate, chamber-like textures. Strings shimmer like candlelight on silk, yet a shadow of foreboding lingers beneath the sweetness. This is tenderness aware of its own expiration.
